Bobb’s MS150 Bike Ride

It’s late summer and for my family and me that means it’s time for the MS150 Bike Ride in New Bern, North Carolina. Why North Carolina you might ask yourself? My brother, Bobb (yes that is spelled right - it’s a family name) and my sister-in-law, Nancy, live in North Carolina. They are pictured above when they last came to visit and we went to the MVMuseum. Nancy has Multiple Sclerosis. She was diagnosed around 1998 and has experienced all the horrid things you can imagine that this disease brings onto a body and mind. If you know Nancy, and many of you do, you know she has a great sense of humor about all of it. On the other side of our family Eric’s brother, Jonathan, was also diagnosed with MS about 6 years ago. Thankfully the advances in treatments keep him mostly symptom free because of generous donations to MS research.

This year I am traveling down to NC to be with Bobb & Nancy as they make their annual trek to New Bern for the North Carolina MS150 Bike Ride on September 7th and 8th. My brother rides with his group of friends, The Pinkies, properly known as ‘Pinkies Keep S’myelin’ that get together each year to raise money to help in the research of this monstrous disease. (Myelin, in case you aren’t in the know … damage to the myelin sheath can be caused by several diseases and conditions, including Multiple Sclerosis, and this damage is what messes your body up).

I am asking if you all would help me to make this my brother’s biggest fundraising year to date! Join me in making a donation to his ride … it’s tax deductible, you’ll be supporting a great cause and if you bring in your receipt of your donation to our farmstand I’ll give you a loaf of bread on the house!

Both sides of our family really appreciate your support. Go Bobb Go!!
